When I try to download/install QuickTime 7.1/iTunes from the iTunes web site,
I get an error: Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classic\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID.
Verify acces to key. What do I need to do to correct this? I found nothing on
the Apple support site.

Are you doing this using an administrator account?

Remove any old apple software from the add/remove programs control panel.
Reboot.
Log in as an administrative level user.
Download the offline installer and run it...

Report back any issues.
