installing itunes/quicktime software

I'm still having trouble. I've run a regidtry cleaner to rid my self of the
*.dll messages of 5/30 laments. but I still get the following error that
says I have to obtain permission to unlock and to contact my support
personnel.

Hkey_Local_Machine|Software|Classes|QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID.

I also looked through the hard drive and I had itunes everywhere. I've
deleted most of it. but there are pockets of resistance that I can't remove
and I still get this same damn message after trying to install. Short of
reformatting my disk I don't know what to do.

Maybe I shouldve gotten a Mac.

Never use those - they usually create more problems than they purport to
fix.

If you have a previous post, please keep replies in the same thread, so
people don't have to go searching around for info. You have a lot of replies
in that thread....it isn't so old as to be considered stale. If you need to
post a new message, make sure you include full info (so people don't have to
go searching around).

Well, you could contact Apple support for help with *their* software.

Depends on the cleaner. I have had no problems whatsoever with
SystemSuite 5 or Crap Cleaner. I have used them regularly with three
computers and I have a friend who's a repair tech who hasn't had any
problems with them on dozens of computers.

Also depends on the expertise of the user....these tools are potentially
dangerous, and if one doesn't know exactly what one is doing, one can end up
with an unbootable computer. I've never had any need to use one, because the
little shards left over by most programs don't generally cause problems, and
if I do need to remove registry entries, I know where to find them using
regedit. As ever, one's mileage may vary.

SystemSuite5 gives color coded results with the safe ones being green. I
have never, ever, had a problem removing or changing the green ones.
That said, SystemSuite7 sucks :)

I have never, ever, had a problem removing all the results that come up
in Issues with Crap Cleaner either.

Now, using Regedit can certainly be dangerous!

You should not use a registry cleaner. They cause more problems than they
fix. You might very well be facing a reinstall in part because of that.

5/30 laments? If you have started a previous thread on this best to stay in
that thread for the continuity. For example it's not clear what you are
having trouble with.
Hkey_Local_Machine|Software|Classes|QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID.

This is an unclear statement. What does "I had itunes everywhere" mean?

Have you contacted Apple tech support.

I suggest you post to the original thread so there is some continuity.
