Registration pop ups

I purchased WIndown NT from CompUSA. Yet, within the past few days, I have had a pop up requesting my registration. First, is this from Mircosoft? It is asking for very personal information. Second, I am NOT a computer expert, I loaded the sotware as I was instructed over a year ago. How do I know I'm registered

You are infected with some form of spyware/adware/virus. Windows NT doesn't
have online registration and even the Windows XP activation doesn't require
personal data.

Get yourself a good anti-virus package and check out www.lavasoft.com for
AdAware adware removal and www.spybot.com for Search & Destroy spyware
removal.
