HELLO MAYBE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME. I RESENTLY BOUGHT A NEW
NOTEBOOK WITH XP ON IT. MY WIFE DID NOT REGISTER IT WHEN
IT ASKED HER TO AT THE BEGGINING OF SETTING IT UP. I
ASKED THE CLERK AT THE STORE AND HE SAID IT WAS NOT
NECESSARY TO REGISTER IT. BUT I HAD TO REGISTER IT ON MY
PC. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME AND GIVE ME
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO THIS. THANK YOU.

First, please dont type in ALL CAPS, this is considered yelling.

Second, Registering Windows XP is opitional. but "Activating" is required.

Registration: Start > Run and type: REGWIZ /R , and hit enter.

First of all, please don't yell at us. We can hear you if you
type normally, in mixed case.

The clerk is correct. Registration is *never* required. You may
be confusing registration with activation, which *is* required.

If your notebook came with XP already on it, it was probably
pre-activated. If it needed to be activated, it would continually
prompt you to do so.
