I upgraded to XP a few days ago, but every time I reboot
I get the screen sequence introducing me to XP and asking
me how I want to register

Despite my going through with the registration several
times, I still get the sequence each time I reboot. Any
ideas on what I'm doing wrong

Possible Resolution:

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and hit enter again.

Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered.

Thanks for helping me. I ran the 2 commands you recommended and got back a dialogue box confirming success on both files. I was elated

However, when I rebooted I got the same result. Specifically, every time I boot and XP Pro loads, I get the white welcome screen with the bassy background music followed by the Welcome to Windows, registration radio button screen. On the other hand, I've never had to recreate my users since I first upgraded. But those first few screens and the music are getting a little annoying

Your thoughts?
