regedt32.exe will not run

Dan

When I try to run regedt32.exe I get an hourglass cursor
for a second but it never opens. I have not problems
otherwise with the system.

It's running XP with all the latest patches. I also run
Norton Internet Security 2004. But I've disabled it and
I still have the problem. I've never had a virus on this
machine (I've always kept Norton up to date). I've tried
reboots etc but still no luck. Strange, but I never get
an error when trying to run it. My account is the admin
account on the machine. Also the regedt32 process never
shows up in the process list. Not even while the cursor
is in hourglass.

Thoughts?

Suggest you run an online virus scan from symantec or any other antivirus site
of your choice. You did say you disabled your anti virus!
