Regedit error

My regedit program are not working.

It gives the following error....
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have
the necessary permissions to access the system".

I am logged in as administrator. Also the same problem happens when I try
running this program by clicking on its icon in the windows directory.

So if anybody can solve this problem it would greately help.

Note: I am creating this post since my original post on this same issue
created a couple of days back has strangely disappeared from the website.
