Reposting: Regedit changes not saved

I've been trying to move my default program files directory off my C
drive to save space. I run Regedit and change the ProgramFilesDir
key to point to G:\Program Files. I quit Regedit and re-open it to
verify that the change was made, and everything looks fine. But then,
when I reboot the system, I find that the key has been changed back to
point to C:\Program Files.

Any idea why my changes aren't being saved and how to correct this
problem?

its due to the security file system

you can use tweakui from microsoft.com
to change those defaults.

there are 2 versions and the one
you need is the NT version that
installs into the control panel.

the other tweakui installs in
the program files and is not the one
i am talking about.

spend a little time searching
for the nt version as it is a little
known secret, but worthwhile
getting a copy of it.

Thanks. What is the setting that I need to change, and what value do
I need to change it to?
