Refresh Rate in Windows Vista- HL2? CS:S? HELP.

I can't override refresh rates in Vista for playing games (I.E.
Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six, etc). They need to be ran at a 100hertz refresh
rate inside the game, but vista is making them stick to 60hertz.

Is there a fix for this?

Also, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and CS:Source both wont launch when i click
them through steam, the error is.. NOTE: Half-Life 2 single player works..

"hl2.exe has stopped working"

Hmm, all work in both V32 and V64 for me but all have appalling frame
rates despite the machines getting high scores in that silly rating
system Vista has. That's why for Steam games I use XP :)

Have you looked in the Steam forums for any comment because this sounds
like it might be an app related problem combined with drivers. Also try
the Vista Games newsgroup on this server, your problem requires more
specific knowledge than the usual stuff that appears here.

If you ask elsewhere you might mention the driver / video card in use.
