reformat hardrive - ME

If any can tell me how to safely reformat my hardrive
operating on windows ME I shall be very grateful! Also
any tips and downloads for interent security - I am
reformatting due to numerous viruses collecting from the
net!
 
You might want to try a winme newsgroup, this is an xp ng
If upgrading to winxp the installation disk has the option to format prior
to install.
If not use winme boot disk to format.
Use a firewall, ZoneAlarm has a free version
Use an AV app, keep updated, there are a number of free ones. If you dont
wish to pay
Use Adaware and or SpyBot Search & Destroy, both free
