Portable Hardrive

I recently got a Lacie portable hardrive. I connected it to
my PC (running XP pro) using a USB and plougged in the
power. I also installed the dirvers for the hardrive. But
when I go into explorer or my computer I can't find the
hardrive. But it seems to be listed in the device manager.
What do I need to start using this hardrive? Format?
Partition? If so how?
Any help would be greatly appreciatted.

Administrative Tools>>Disk Management>>(follow the
yellow brick road).

You have to partition and format the drive before it will show up in windows
explorer.
