Red Alert 2 Runs Too Fast on XP

Hi, I have Red Alert 2 installed on my computer with Windows XP, and it runs fine except for one thing; it runs too fast in singleplayer mode. It seems as though the game speed is set at 5. If I play a skirmish, it has the speed set at 5, when I change it to 3, it is like the speed I am used to playing at. I don't know how to slow the speed in single player because it is not in the options menu. I am new to this Forum and am rather impressed. Can any one help me?

the game speed is locked in single player, theres probably a cheat though
