Now that I have finally ridded my PC of NAV, how can I get rid of the Norton
Protected Recycle Bin and replace it with the usual one.

That's part of Norton's Systemworks - you have to disable it within that program.

Norton Protected Recycle is an additive to the Windows XP Recycle Bin not a
replacement. Right click on your Recycle Bin and select Properties. Your
can disable Norton Protected Recycle there.
