Open Windows Explorer and look at the bottom of the folder tree of the
system drive for the Recycle Bin folder. You can use a utility like TweakUI
to unhide this folder on the Desktop.

TweakUI is one of the Free Power toys for XP.

Open the program and go to the Desktop menu item.

The usual shortcut to Windows Explorer is found in Start/All
Programs/Accessories. You can also go to Start/Run and type: explorer.exe
and click OK to start it.

I recommended TweakUI to simply get the Recycle Bin back onto the Desktop
where it belongs. Open TweakUI and select the Desktop menu item. On theb
right side, place a check mark in the Recycle Bin and Apply/OK. This will
place the recycle Bin icon back on the desktop.
