Have read several threads on this subject. Tried to reclaim the recycle bin
by making sure there is a check in the box, as directed by many of you. For
me, that did not work. The Bin still does not show up on my desktop.

So, how do I get it back? Once back, I will use the registry fix suggested
by Ramesh S.

Did you try these ones from Ramesh Srinivasan (MVP)
Right-click on the Desktop, click Personalize, and in the left pane, click
Change desktop icons. In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog, enable the
Recycle Bin checkbox. Click OK. See also:

Vista:

Problem solved: rebooted, and the bin re-appeared. Then downloaded the
registry "hide delete" tweak, and all is well. Life is good.

Let's stop bashing Vista and carry on with life. Neither Vista nor life are
perfect but we'll get through it. And please, let's stop using Vista as an
excuse to get into Hitler-bashing. Though he deserves the deepest part of
hell, diatribes about him and his horrid crimes do not belong on this forum.
