Recycle bin

Also I lost my recyclebin by deleting it accidently from the desktop. After
the following procedure I managed to get it back on the desktop:
"Right-click on the Desktop and select Personalize. Under Tasks on the left
pane select Change desktop icons. Check the Recycle Bin box".
But..... it looks like I have to refresh the desktop now manually in order
to see the status of the recycle bin (emty or full). How can I get this
automatically, so after deleting a file I should see a full recycle bin, and
after emtying it I should see an empty recycle bin. So not just after renewal
of the desktop.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Willem,

It must be something to do with Vista as I can't believe how many people
have deleted the recycle bin ( it has even caught experienced users )
I don't know why you are having trouble seeing if your bin is empty or full.
Have you right clicked on the icon to see whether the shortcut has been
restored ?
What sort of background are you using, do you think the bin is getting
graphically lost with the background?

Thank Bob,

It's resolved it had to do with a setting in the register. To restore the
Recycle Bin icon to the Desktop (for standalone Windows Vista systems), I
used the registry fix available for download from the Attachments section. I
downloaded showrecyclebin.reg and saved it to the Desktop. Then I
Right-clicked on the file and then choose Merge. Click Yes to confirm.

All the best,
