Recovery disks

In creating recovery disks, it appears I ahve "lost" my itunes music and
other files. Can these files be recovered? Note: Before I ran these, i
unchecked the System recovery option.
 
If you are referring to the set of recovery CDs which certain computer
manufacturers allow you to create, what they do is erase your hard disk
and reinstall the software that was on the disk when it left the
factory. Anything you didn't backup is gone.
