After system recovery I found my desktop files missing.... is it any chance

Ideally*, use another machine to find and install a file recovery utility -
can suggest several if you need advice, there are some okay free ones.
Attach the original machine's hard drive to the other machine as a slave and
point the utility at it, see what it can find.
* Well, _ideally_ you read up and understood in advance what a system
recovery would do to your files and prepared accordingly.
And second-from-ideally, you didn't do the above but it's okay because you
can use the backups that you've taken regularly of all your important
files....

What do you mean by "System Recovery"? Exactly what did you do?

System Recovery process from your PC maker will usually erase all
files nad place back a "copy" of the Windows that was shipped with
this unit. Finding lost files may not be possible.
