Recovery Console again...

Why is it that we, the user, has to go out and download and burn different
CDs to get a program for MS to work with XP SP2? Are they ever going to
update the Recovery Console to be used with SP2? There has to be millions
that use it. Any rumors on when they are going to update it?

Hi

If you have upgraded to SP2 and you are using a CD from a previous version
of XP, you will see that error message. To install the Recovery Console in
SP2, you will need to create a slipstreamed SP2 CD.

You can download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en -
or if you have a copy of the SP2 CD, you can copy the xpsp2.exe file from
that CD onto your hard disk/partition and use that:

then follow the directions in the following article to create a slipstreamed
XP CD:

Hi Will...
But that's exactly what I don't think we have to do. I can do that, but I'm
getting tired of having to change every thing in order to get what was there
in the first place. Please don't take this in a bad why, but just tired of
having to redo everything. This is MS's deal and would like to see them take
care of it.
Thanks

Hi Will...
If I do a slipstreamed will I lose all that I have on the drive now, or will
it come up as a repair?
Thanks
