Recording from playback

Lately whenever I am trying to record sounds, my computer has been recording
whatever I am currently playing back, and it does not record anything from
the microphone. I didn't change any of my sound properties, so I have no
clue what's going on. Anyone have an answer?

Rightclick volume icon (probably next to clock) and Open Volume Control
Now see if the Microphone is not Muted or the slider is at least half way
up.
If Mike is not listed, click Options top left and click Advanced Controls.
