Recording from line input

I would like to record music using the audio line input of
my Dell Dimension 4400 WinXP Home, but the only way I have
found to access the input is from the Sound Recorder which
appears too limited in file format (wav) and duration (60
seconds at a time). How can I use Windows Media Player or
similar programs to do this?

You can use CDex to record from the line-in jack, and you get a top-notch CD
ripper and file converter, to boot! Get it FREE at
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
You can edit the WAV files with Audacity. Get it FREE at
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
