Hello!!
I want an all in one computer and unless I spend over a thousand dollars I
can' get one with a line input...I have really spent alot of time searching
this out..
I have gotten lots of help about using a pot to the mic input to enable
balance of impedance between the line input and the mic input for proper
musical sound..But experience tells me the mic is mono sound normally and I
want stereo tracks...Another way I understand is to use the USB method but I
don't that will give me stereo tracks either..My new computer when I buy
will have Windows 7,Home Premium 64..Thanks,Nick

You have 2 choices :

1) use the onboard sound
2) get one with a separate sound card.

BOTH will have a line input.

You seem obsessed with this pot idea. Its not necessary. And a PC will not
cost over a thousand dollars. Go to a PC shop, do some research there. Ask
questions.

Or, buy a good standard PC, buy a Soundblaster card (they are cheap) making
sure there is what you need in connectivity, fire it up, go into the bios
and turn off the on-board sound, then install your SB drivers.

Forget this pot idea.

A USB soundcard will give you stereo input, via the line in.

You seem reluctant to do any searching, so see this :

If you're not in the US, change the region at the top of the page.
