Hi
Can anyone recommend an email client which also has the ability to show
newsgroups?
I have tried Thunderbird but could not get it to import my Outlook Express
emails.
Thanks
Garry

Thanks bIGGy

Yes that was the first thing I tried but it did not import anything! Unless
I had an old version of Thunderbird!

If you like OE why do you want to change to a different client? OE can
easily be configured to make you feel safer. Also you shouldn't have
any security problems with newsgroups.

Another option would be to get a different e-mail client and use OE for
newsgroups.

I ended up using OE for e-mail and Xananews for newsgroups. The tools
and user-friendliness of Xananews make me wonder how I operated without
it in the past. You can redownload the newsgroup data easily after
installing a newsreader.

I thought through myself the issue of one email/news program or
separate programs and decided that because Xnews did so many
things I liked and can't live without, I just would have to live
with seprate news and email programs.

I haven't found any email program that has a filter like the one
in XNews, where you can type a sting in the filter box and see
only matches in the message list.

Xananews will do that. It has two options in the filter box. Don't
Display and Don't Download.

Of course, Opera will do this. Seamonkey also.
