Free email service.

Hi there.

Could anyone direct me to a free email hosting co. / email host / email
service that will allow me to check my email on my local PC using an
email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird? If they also provide
web-based access that would be nice.

Thanks a million, and cheers.

Fastmail.fm - 10 MB / very reliable / power user interface / excellent
support community / IMAP + Webmail

UnitedEmailSystems.com 5 GB / lots of features / relatively new... / all
access IMAP + POP3 + SMTP

VFEmail.net - 15 MB / reliable / antivirus / basic antispam / IMAP +
POP3 + SMTP

Bluebottle.com - 250 MB / reliable / anti-phishing / Challenge-Response
ANtispam

Just a quick reply, so I've left out quite a few features from all services.

That's not free! Only this is free there:

1 GB storage space
XP Webmail interface!

Word of caution wrt this company: Read their forums. There seem to be
significant problems with the service.
