Dear John Inzer:
I've read the newsgroups and tried everything. All my pictures are on my 2nd
drive ("D"-just pictures). Under "D/Properties/Sharing" -box is checked to
"share folders to network" (even though I'm not on a network - home user
only).
Do I need to click EACH folder(there are 23) and say "publish this folder to
the web"?
I've been right-clicking on my photos, choose "send to", choose "make
smaller", my email message pops up saying photo is attached & ready to send.
I add a note and click "send".
For months now, my friends say they just get "A BUNCH OF JUMBLED LETTERS"!
I run XP, SP2, and OE is listed as my default mail program. Norton Internet
Security (which includes Nortno Antivirus) is my virus program.
I thought it was Norton, so I went in and changed the following:
In Norton, I unchecked "Scan outgoing email", Scan incoming email" "Scan
within compressed files". I also went to "Smart Scan" (instead of
"Comprehensive File Scanning" and deleted "jpeg scanning".
I have made sure (per your instructions) that I went into Windows Registry
for OE and it was already correct.
Windows Firewall is turned OFF.
Norton says to turn Norton off, and then send and wait for someone to get
back to me. GREAT. In the meanwhile, I'm unprotected!
Road Runner 9cable co) says it's not them.
Please help!

E-mail an image to yourself. If the file is
intact...the problem is with the e-mail settings
or security settings of your recipients.

If they use Outlook Express, you could suggest
they go to...Tools / Options / Security tab...
and Uncheck "Do Not Allow Attachments" and
"Block Images" / Apply / OK. Also go to...
Tools / Options / Read tab...and uncheck
"Read All Messages In Plain Text" / Apply / OK.

Disabling your virus scanner and firewall
when connected to the net is *not* a good
idea.
