Receive email and calendar on outlook

All,

I have two requirements using outlook:

1. I want to keep my emails in about two days on exchange server, and then I
can receive my email from home using POP3. I will have about twenty rules on
outlook, and I don't want to apply these rules to server, only on outlook
client.

2. I also need to use calendar function of outlook to do the schedule.

I try to set up exchange services for calendar, and internet email for
receiving email, but I got the strange issues, one email is reproduced many
copies on server, in that case, my mail box is always full quickly.

How can I set up outlook to meet the above two requirement.

Thanks in advance,

Rabbit.

If your delivery location at work is the Exchange mailbox, then your data
will stay on the Exchange server indefinitely. You can then access your
messages at home via POP and specify that a copy of the messages should
remain on the server. This way, the Exchange mailbox is controlled
completely by the work PC and your home PC just reads. You will NOT be able
to use your Calendar from home, however, since POP accesses only the Inbox
of the server. You can have all the rules you want at home, and they will
act only on the local copies of the messages you download. Your server will
know nothing of them.

This can't be done with POP access to the Exchange server. You'll need to
use Outlook Web Access, a VPN, or RCP over HTTP to access the Exchange
server in order to have direct Calendar functionality. Alternatively (and
this is what I do), you can use a PDA or some other sync tool to keep your
home and work calendars in step.
