Reassigning ownership name

I purchased a laptop as an "open box" item. The previous
purchaser had registered XP and thus the name shows up in
all of the software and XP form areas.
How do I change this?

Change the Registered Owner name in registry:

1. Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion.
3. To change the values of the RegisteredOrganization, RegisteredOwner, or
ProductId, simply double-click on them.
