really puzzling

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me i'm running xp but every
time i try to install my Broad band modem i get a message about windows
2000 drivers any advice would be gratefully received

YOU re read the post. She only mentions 2000, doesn't mean it's her os.

So what does "I'm running XP" mean then? For a definition of the word
"moron" suggest you avail yourself of the nearest mirror.

While Windows 2000 drivers often work in XP, drivers suitable for XP are
preferred. Are you trying to install drivers from a CD that came with the
modem? If yes, you might try the manufacturer's website.

Often the drivers on the CD are older than the current drivers they have in
their download section. You may even find one for XP there. If the modem CD
contains software in addition to drivers, you'll want to check for updated
software at the site as well.

If you find you are stuck with only Win2000 drivers only, you'll need to
post back and tell us the complete message you're seeing about the drivers.
