Read Receipt from user not in my send list

Hi .. in what situation will i recieve a not read recipt from a userB that i
did not even send the email to? i encounter one such case, when a userA
receive a not read receipt from userB but in the first place that email was
not even send to userB! have check userB that she did not delete any email
nor read that particular email? is that possible? i'm runnung ex2003 with
outlook 98

Hi Kathleen .. thanks for the reply. no .. userB is not .. just notice that
read receipt was meant for an email send last year!? and it's a valid email
as i check from another user which was in the To: list .. kind of wierd!? any
suggestion? it's only one and only case that happen. i can't find any clue
and as the userA is a management staff, he was questioning how could this
have happened?! i really can find an answer to that question! .. thanks
