Read mail not deleted from server when using 2 machines

I use a desktop and laptop. When using either and downloading my email from
one it remains on the server that when I go and download using the other
machine the same emails are there. I contacted my provider it was determined
to be an Outlook problem

If they are pop accounts and you elected to keep a copy on the server then
this is default behaviour
