When installing XP, I get errors reading various files on
the system CD during the "copying files" process.
If I restart setup, I get the same error on different file
names.
The copying process may get as far as 80% complete before
this happens, but can happen as early as 20% complete.
I've also tried installing Win2K and the same type of
errors during the "copying files" phase.
I'm currently running WinME without problems.
I've also tried copying the install folder from the system
CD prior to running setup, but still get read errors
trying to read the system CD. I have 2 CD drives, and
have the same problem with both drives.
I can read any other CDs without problems, but the Win2K
and WinXP system CDs won't read reliably. I've tried
several different original system CDs with the same
results. Do these system CDs use a different format than
conventional CDs?
Any Suggestions?
