re-run setup

I may have posted to the wrong ng earlier.
I'll try it here.......

How would I re-run the WinXP Home
setup without losing any data? I just
want to return some memory settings
in the registry to their default. I goofed
by not keeping up with some tweaks.

In earlier versions of Windows I remember
being able to do this and the only set back
was having Windows programs you didn't
want re-appear. I think I tried this once when
XP first rolled out and it erased my data when
I re-installed the OS.

I would suggest that you do a system restore go back to
like the earliest system restore point and do that restore
