I have recently got a new photo printer which I have been
using straight from a memory card. However, I have just
tried to connect it to my pc. I put in the disk, but when
it gets to the part where I plug in the printer &
the 'new hardware found' wizard starts the installation
stops. The software seems to be loaded although it
dosn't seem to work, the printer appears in 'Printers &
faxes'& prints ok from within 'My pictures' only. My main
problem is, which is extremely annoying, that every time
I plug the printer in, I keep continuously getting
the 'found new hardware' wizard window opening followed
by those silly yellow bubbles from the taskbar! I have
contacted HP support & they have taken me through
checking that the driver etc is installed & they have
told me that it must be a xp problem. Is their anyone
out there that can possibly help me?

Thats normal for any USB device if you unplug and plug it back
in, it says found new hardware. (well it shows the icon on the
taskbar). As it has to reinstall the drivers. (it should only take a few
secs).

Or does it ask you to reinstall all over again?

Uninstall the drivers again. Leave the USB cable out while its installing
It SHOULD tell you when to plug it back into the USB port.

Does you Photosmart work by itself?? (Without being connected)?
It might. (you can chuck the card into a slot, and u can print straight from
the printer)? I use the Photosmart 145, which is most probably similar.

Have you got the new driver from the HP site for this printer. they have
put one out for people who are having problems when trying to instal, I have
the same printer and that was the problem I was having and I downloaded the
new driver and all is well now.
