I'm trying to install a HP ps 7660 printer to my computer. I plug it into the
usb port the new hardware detected sign appears for the printer, then it also
flashes usb mass storage device found, it will not install either of them.
Please help, I've been working on this for two days!!! I went to the HP
download center and downloaded the driver and still nothing. Thanks, Kevin

Did you plug the cable in before installing the software?
If so, make sure the cable is unplugged, load the software and plug the cable
in when the installer tells you to.

Thanks for the tip but still no luck. It goes through the entire process then
when it gets to where it installs I get the message " this hardware cannot be
installed". Previously I was getting messages like " new hardware found: usb
mass storage device, and new usb printer support and hp 7600 found. PLEASE
HELP

Disconnect it first, then delete/uninstall everything per last instructions.
DO NOT connect it to your PC untill prompted to do so and DO NOT turn
it on untill prompted. Before doing this, check under your Programs Files>
HP>Digital Imaging>uninstall, you should have 2 uninstall apps, run both of
them.
hpzmsi01.exe and hpzscr01.exe. You can also do a search for a file called
uninstall.bat it will be in the HPTemp/Util>CCC directory, it will have 4
sub-files uninstall_L1.bat, uninstall_L2.bat, etc. you can also run them.
Good Luck :~)
