i have unhidden my system files and still cannot find the
inf in windows. i cannot install my hp photosmart 7660
printer the error i get is that it could not fint eh inf.
we have found the inf from the cd but the windows folder
to put it into is nowhere to be found. i have spent
forever on the phone with hp and they cannot help anymore.
can anyone help me.

Did you try search,for inf files go to display,color mgt,add,browse.
After browse all windows inf files get displayed,you might see what youre
looking for,get details,try search or R.click the file,properties(if it lets you).

Umm I have the photosmart 145 (photo printer)
Is yours similar?

Delete the entry in device manager if its there.

Did you put the cd in and let it find the driver?

Or run the set file on CD? Most things, you
have to run setup, NOT just the inf file.

All I did here, was connect the printer chuck the
CD in it did everything automatically. Loaded the
drivers/software. And it was up and running.
