Re-Installing XP

I was re-installing Windows XP and got the following error
message
"setup failed to install product catalogs fatal error"
Digital signature catalog c:\windows\system32
\dll\cache\oembios.cat could not be installed ffffffe0b

When I reboot the computer, it goes back to the setup,
asks for the cd and goes through the same process again.

Not sure if this will be much help to you given you may not be able to boot
into XP but have a look at the following Knowledge Base Article:

You might see if you can boot into Safe Mode in order to follow the
instructions:
Boot the system, start tapping F8, select Safe Mode when the menu appears
and press enter.

Try installing xp cd,exit the info page if in explorer,restart computer,boo
to xp cd,at the info page,select install xp,new copy.Or install xp cd as soon as
you start computer,then boot to cd before xp logo screen appears.
