re-installed Windows XP Home edition

UNBELIEVABLE!!
I bought my PC last august, with Windows XP Home,
registered, no problems.
This week I took it to the place where I bought it MDG,
Mississauga,ON; to install a Network card. They were
busy therefore I hadto leaveit until next day. Went to
pick it up to find that they installed the card and also
FORMAT my hard drive losing all my data and programs,
etc. After I got my breath back I told them imagine how
many things! but I said at least put Windows back so I
can re-install all my things. They did but now I did re-
instaled most of my stuff back. The problem I have is
that they registered just in my husband First name in
lower case! and the number of the new software but they
did not give us sticker of authenticity Therefore we can
not register. I would like to change the name as we had
it both of our names and last name, and also put my old
authenticity number that is already in Microsoft records
and also in the Warranty,of when we bought the computer.
I had not phone MDG yet because they are so irresponsible
that they probably do not have the right authenticity
number that they put in my PC. Is there any way that I
can do that editing in my System information?
PLEASE HELP WILL BE SURELY APRECIATTED

Berta,

While I understand your consternation, the honest truth is that it's
probably not worth it to change the name of the registered user. That name
really doesn't matter to anyone; it's just decoration.

On the other hand, the Certificate of Authenticity is of great concern. You
should absolutely demand that the computer shop give you a CoA that matches
the product key they used to install your operating system. If they can't
or won't do that, I'd have to question the legitimacy of the operating
system they installed, which may mean that you might not be able to install
future Service Packs.
