Hello
Ihave been using windows 2000 for a few months without any
problems, but just recently the computer would restart for
no reason at all! this has happened several times now in
the past couple of days.anyone have any ideas on this -----
---TIA

Couple of things to try.

How long before you have your system running is it starting to reboot. You
may have a dead cpu fan or it needs cleaning. Have you opened the case
recently to check?

The next may be a virus. Running online or off a virus checker and perhaps
Adaware.

Download AIDA32 (Google) and use it to monitor your CPU temperature. If the
CPU gets too hot, it can reboot. It happens to me with my AMD Athlon when
its temperature gets above 150F.

seems the computer has to be on for a few hours before
random boot occurs.
The system is just a month old and the CPU fan is
running,I also have a case fan installed which is running
also!I am running norton antivirus software with most
recent dat files installed however I have not tried to run
adaware program.
