random rebooting

My computer randomly reboots for no reason.
I have tried downloading different patches but none
of them have solved the problem. I don't beleive it is a
virus since I have a firewall and an anti-virus program
installed. It also has to randomly shut down programs
like Internet Explorer. I would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks

Go to control panel---system--advanced tab --and remove/change option of
rebooting on error.(Bottom item). This will allow you to examine the error
when it occurs. When the error does occur look in the event log for clues.
