random network connectivity problem

I just did a fresh install of W2K Pro. After finishing, I
noted the yellow exclamation mark at the 3c515 TX Fast
Etherlink ISA network adapter and I could not connect to
my network. I uninstall, restart and the network adapter
installs itself correctly. When I shut down my computer
and restart, the yellow exclamation mark is back. If I
repeat the uninstall-restart process, all is well again.
Any idea what's going on here and how I can fix it?
