Hello All,
I have a Crucial 1GB DDR PC3200 400MHz RAM on an Asrock K8NF4G MB. BIOS shows DDR 333MHz. Does the RAM set the speed on the MB or can I change the setting in BIOS?
Thanks in advance,
peahouse05:confused:

Should be able to change it in the B.I.O.S as long as your motherboard supports that...

Thanks Guys,
Ordered DDR400 from ebuyer and that's what appears on the paperwork. I did wonder when I saw 333MHz in the BIOS. I'll try changing it in the BIOS and see what happens.
Cheers,

im not sure on this as the new AMD CPU's dont have a bus speed as such, but i think that it should be running at 333Mhz which is what the RAM would be forced to run at

Its not your ram thats defective or anything like that, your Mb chose to run the ram at 333mhz because thats its optimal speed. not sure if new ram will change your current speed :D

This is the new Sempron processor and has the 64-bit instructions activated, which makes it a true Athlon 64 CPU but with less memory cache. So you can think of Sempron 3400+ as a “light version” of Athlon 64 3200+ with a Palermo core. ;)

The memory clock is 400 (200Mhz DDR) so you should be able to use the ram correctly. :thumb:

Thanks for all the replies, will try setting to 400MHz in BIOS as Muckshifter suggests and report back.

Set to 200MHz (400DDR) in BIOS. Shows correctly on PC Wizard scan of memory.
Thanks again:wave:
