RAM / memory swapping

Guest

Hello

I've got 128MB of RAM on my Dell PC Win XP Home edition. The system runs slow so I got 256MB more RAM ordered.

My Norton System Works says my system has 50% memory utilization and my memory swam file utilization is 59%. What does this mean exactly and will the additional RAM help

Thanks.

How large is your hard disk and how much free space? In Windows Explorer right click on your C drive and select Properties.

Download Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and use it to remove parasites.

How good is your housekeeping?

1. In Outlook Express empty your Deleted Items folder.

2. In Outlook Express run File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.

3. Run Disk Cleanup. Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk
Cleanup.

4. Run Disk Defragmenter.

What Norton Utilities are running continuously in the background?

Hope this helps.
