radeon 9200SE slow 2D redraw

I've just bought a radeon 9200SE card so I can play all my 3d games
with maximum compatibility - which works fine, but compared to my
previous Voodoo3 card, it's 2D performance is somewhat lacking.
Webpages that are graphic intensive are slightly jerky in scrolling,
and any redrawing of the desktop is not as fast as I feel it should be.
I'm using all the latest display drivers and catalyst drivers. Is there
anyway to improve the 2D performance or is this card just slightly
inferior in that respect?

Overclock it perhaps? Get Rage3D Tweak here:
