Quicktime doesn't work on websites

I am using XP, and updated Quicktime. I don't have my Norton Internet
Security disabled, and have made sure the the Quicktime player is able to use
all the file types. I stil get the Quicktime logo with the question mark
superimposed over it.
What else can I do to fix this problem?

You updated to version 7.1.6 recently (correct?) and are running NIS (what
year version?). Are you trying to open media files such as .mp3 or .mp4 and
are unable to do so? Or is it the Quicktime ActiveX control that is not
working in your browser? It has to be enabled and installed (go to
tools|manage add-ons) .
