QuickTime Apple

O

Octavio

My computer came with a QuickTime program that apparently is from Apple. I
use a nonApple PC and my computer has Windows XP Media Center edition, so
what is this QuickTime program about and should I delete it? (PS Haven't
used it yet)
Thanks in advance.

It allows you to view movies clips on the web that were prepared with QuickTime software.

Hi Octavio,

Quick Time is simply installed there in the event you wish to play Quick
Time media. There's more of it out there than you may think. This is a
non-Apple machine, but I have QT installed also.

So then it is a program for general viewing for all computers and and it is
not necessaryly for Apple computers only?

Also, it seems to be a free program, is that correct?

Yes and yes though of course you have to have the right version. The Apple
version wouldn't run on a Windows computer.

Yes.

This depends. There are run-time versions that are supplied
free but limited in capabilities. And then there are also the
"full" versions that needs to be purchased or patches that need
to be purchased to convert the free version to a full version.
