Quicklaunch bar. Where is the data stored?

Hi.

If I place an icon on the desktop, I know I can find it in docs and
settings / user / desktop. If I have one on the quicklaunch bar,
where is it stored?

I ask because I have copied my docs and setting from one PC and wish
to use a lot of the shortcuts on another. One is on this bar, but I
can't find it in my backup files.

Anyone help, please?

Thanks.

Take a look in this folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Keep in mind that the shortcuts have to point to the same
location on the other computer.

Good luck

Aha, one that I haven't yet been able to copy across.

Got that, thanks.

I'll need it I think.

In many cases, if you copy shortcuts from one computer to another, they
won't be usable on the new computer. They have to refer to exactly the same
files, and those files have to be in excatly the same folders.

Hi Ken.

Thanks, I am aware of that. Some shortcuts I have though, such as my
ones for Agent newsreader, are each configured for a different
identity. It's easier to copy them over and repoint them, if needed,
than trying to do it again.

Also some games shortcuts have specific command line additions I don't
want to have to research again.

OK, glad to hear it, and no offense intended.

OK, understood. It's often easier to change something than to have to start
from scratch. I just wanted to make sure you knew you had to do that.
