lost IE

I cant find the icon for IE anywhere, so as to launch my internet broswer.
The only way I was able to launch the browser was from a saved web page and
just clicked on the home icon from there.
Can see it in task bar, quick launch bar, start>programs.
I know its in my pc somewhere but cant find it.
I would like to place it back in my quicklaunch, and in the start part.

Run this at a command prompt or just run it from the Start | Run
dialogue box:

"%SystemRoot%\System32\shmgrate.exe" OCInstallShowIE

That should put the IE shortcuts back in their default locations. You
can start Internet Explorer from the Task Manager (File | New Task) or
from the Start | Run box, just type & enter iexplore
