I am running windows XP In the Quicken check register ,I am getting too
many payees in the dropdown window, and I can not find away to delete some of
them. If there is some one that can help me with this problem I will
appreciate it very much.

This really is an inappropriate newsgroup for questions about Quicken,
but since Intuit is so unresponsive ...

The following is based on Quicken 2003, but it should be the same for 2002:

The items you see in the "payee" drop-down box on the write checks
screen are what Quicken calls "memorized transactions." You can find
the Memorized Transaction List in the "Cash Flow" menu, or just use
<ctrl>+t to open the list. You can then delete whichever of the
memorized transactions you no longer want. If you go to "Preferences"
in the "Edit" menu and select "Write Checks" and then select the
"QuickFill" tab, you can uncheck the box to "Auto-memorize new
transactions," and your list of memorized transactions won't grow so
rapidly.

For further questions, try posting in alt.comp.software.financial.quicken

Thanks for the info on Quicken, I am new on these groups and really
didn't know where to post my question. thanks again Richard
