Quick Boot

I have had a problem with windows loading since i went from windows 2000 to
XP (not upgrade, dropped 2000 off and xp installed professionally). The
problem i am having is that it doesn't go to the login screen. It just
automatically logs in. I want to protect my computer so people can't just
turn it on with out having to login. A friend told me it may be that the
system is set to "quick boot" is this true? If so, how can i turn this off.
For reference...I use windows XP home SP2

Start>Run>control userpasswords2 [enter]
Check the box that requires users to enter a password when logging in.
Then assign passwords. If you go into the User Accounts applet, you can
also choose to disable the Welcome Screen and that will give you the
classic Windows logon box.
