Question on LAN connection status

confused

can anybody help me?

i think there is something wrong with my xp, or computer
or cable modem, i dont know which one.

the problem is, everytime i tried to repair my
connection, the error message is always the same "

The following steps of the repair operation failed:
Flushing the ARP cache.

Please contact your network adm or isp
"

What should i do?
if anybody know how to fix this, please email me..

It is a problem with your local machine. The repair functionaly does 8
local tests (like arp cache flush) and doesn't really do anything intuitive
like engage the cable modem.

See if you can do a manual arp cache from the command prompt and let me know
the results.
